Our boxes are suitable for children and young people, making it the perfect present to encourage kids into the kitchen, and start them on their cooking journey.
Cook School is a not-for-profit organisation that was started a few years ago now. Our Co-founder, Amanda Grant, is a children’s food writer and cookbook author. We help children to understand food and how to cook. We think it's really important to know how doing both of these things can help us all to be healthy and to have a healthier planet. We've taught 50,000 children so far.
I was so bowled over by their philosophy and how brilliantly the kids cooked and how delicious our dinner tasted that I immediately signed up for their bi-monthly subscription service
Making everything super easy for family members of all ages
Can’t recommend these cooking boxes for kids more highly.
Parents, we must step away from the pans. The time has come for them to cook for us.
It can sometimes be difficult to come up with an easy to follow meal that kids would get excited about cooking, this is where Cook School comes in!
Both Co-Founders Kristian Dean and leading food educator and award-winning children’s cookbook author Amanda Grant are passionate about offering accessible and affordable recipe boxes to help teach kids to cook, learn a new skill and lead a healthier lifestyle.
How does the subscription work?
Once you’ve subscribed your child will receive their recipe box delivered straight to your door, every other Friday.
Your subscription will be rolling, with your payment for the boxes being taken every two weeks. If you wish to pause or end your subscription, you can do so in the ‘My Subscriptions’ area of your account.
How does the Gift Box work?
When you purchase the one-off Cook School box you will be asked for the delivery address and the child's name you are sending the gift too. The recipe box will then be sent to them on the relevant delivery day.
Where does my donation go?
Your donation goes directly to the not-for-profit Cook School to help them continue their incredible work they are doing in schools across the UK. Cook School is a nationwide, not-for-profit organisation helping children to understand food & teaching children to cook. Ultimately instilling confidence and independence with cooking and a passion for healthy food. Learn more about the work Cook School does here.
If you choose to donate to Cook School when you sign up for one of our subscription boxes then you will only be charged for the box after your first payment.

Will I be able to choose which recipes I receive?
The Cook School recipe box is designed to help children to learn about food seasonality and sustainability and, for this reason, there will be one new recipe each fortnight.
The boxes are a great way to get children to try new ingredients and flavours so don’t be put off if your child is a fussy eater - if they have cooked it, they’re far more likely to want to eat it!
You can find out what’s coming up in the Upcoming Recipes section.
Can boxes be changed to cater for special dietary requirements?
All Cook School boxes are vegetarian and are designed to include as few allergens as possible. Unfortunately, we can’t cater to any specific dietary requirements at the moment (so we can't guarantee they are allergen-free), but we’re working on it!
We publish all recipes ahead of time so if you or your household have an allergen intolerance then you can skip that week, simply let us know by the Wednesday of that week. You will not be charged for that box.
What if we’re not home when the box is delivered?
Operating in the most sustainable way possible, is central to our business and for that reason we have decided not to offer ‘re-delivery’ as an option.
We ask all our customers to nominate a ‘safe place/person’ in case you are not in.
If your specified place/person is not available our driver will find the next closest neighbour and leave it with them. You will then be notified where it has been left.
This way we are minimising deliveries, reducing the carbon footprint of your recipe box and ensuring you get the freshest produce to cook with.
If you are going to be away, then simply pause your subscription.
Can we pause our subscription if we’re going on holiday?
Absolutely! Just contact us at email@example.com and let us know when you’d like to pause and resume your deliveries. When you resume, you’ll receive the most up-to-date box on your chosen Cook School Friday.
